Did they invite these people for dinner? My guess is they knew this would upset you (so they tried to hide it from you). If they showed up, and just served them dinner that's one thing, if they were invited, that's a completely different story. Not sure. You can always ask your son, "Have I done something to upset you, or to make you feel its ok to treat me this this way?" Instead of saying, "You are an ungrateful son," say "I feel unloved." This will hopefully help him see that you are not attacking him. Get more facts. Did they invite these people for dinner?
